With only a few short days left of the semester, students in the RY classes are gearing up for our closing ceremonies next week. While we’re excited that we’ll get one last chance to spend some time with folks who we’ve been working with all semester, we’re also a bit sad to say goodbye to our group. It’s been a wonderful semester, full of amazing service work and bonding and I’ve asked each student to reflect on their experience this semester in the comments below. I know I am personally sad to see all of them go off to other classes, and I want to thank each of them for a wonderful first half of the year. I am so proud of all of them for their hard work and the changes they've made in our community.

-this semester has been and amazing start off to the year,meeting new people, becoming there friend and hearing there storys, its all been wonderful. being able to work with the people of the community and being ablle to give was simply one of the highlights of being in R.Y. anothe one would have to be, the wednesday activitys and the humor it brought out in us all. If you were to ask me if R.Y did anything for me, i could respond with an hour long answer, but im going to narrow it done, R.Y has changed me an helped me. It showed me that im not the only one going threw hard times and that i can shape my future how ever i want to, my lifes up to me. being in R.Y i have made new friends & i have became close to the teachers, will i miss them? yeah i will, but then again i can go see them right down the hall :). i would most definitely reccomend R.Y to a friend. so to wrap this up, Thank You guys for a great first semester. :)

ReplyDeleteThis class has been one of the most fun in all of my high school career. Going into my last semester of high school, i am sad to leave this class, but happy that i could have been a part of it. Some great times we had indluded my and katie doing yard work at the homeless shelter in greenfield in our dresses. Also taking on my fear of heights was a great challenge that I met this semester. I think that i have got in touch with my town, and with the kids in my school, which was great to do before I left. This class has definately helped me grow, and over come some of my barriers that were preventing me from growing. I will miss everyone in RY, we have grown as a family, and now it is time to part ways :( I would definately recommend RY to everyone, it was an amazing experience. I hope all of my class mates know that they can come to me for anything, anytime. You guys are all wonderful, and I won't forget you when I'm off at college. Thank you all for our great times!
ReplyDeleteRy has been a fun adventure, we have all grown closer and supported each other. I would recomend anyone willing to take a challenge for them selfes to participate in this class.Ry was been an adventure in sure i wont forget, from helping the community to helping each other.

ReplyDeleteThis semester has been great. I've never liked a class quite as much as i like this one. Everything we had done has changed me in a good way. It feels really good to help people and to give to more needy families. I can say i have changed. I'm more out to help people and to put aside what im doing and go help someone else. The other students and the teachers are so helpful and nice. I'm going to miss having class with them everyday. I'm going to miss going to the senior center and seeing all the old people. Old people are quite cool. I used to be afraid of them. but they have great stories and a good sense of humor. And baking cakes for the survial center and the children is something else i'll miss. Its fun getting to gether with a group and making some one less fortunate smile alittle more. I'll miss everyone in R.Y. They all are special to me and have a place in my heart. (: Ashley, Alex, Tim, Trisha and Dillon and i cant forget MRs Batchelor and Mrs Mcdonald, they have made a big impact on my life and have helped me choose better dicions. Thank you for the laughs and for one of the greatest semesters(:

this class started off as any other but it became far more we became best friends, we became a family. It was an amazing experience to be in this class with these amazing students i never knew existed till the begining of the school year and im soo glad i meant them cuz my life simply would not be the same, have i not meant them. its going to be sad letting go of this clas but we each had a great year and the best times and memories which will never be forgotten. we all had an amazing time doing community service and helping out people in need. It simply opened my eyes to alot more. i had alot of fun meeting new people and making new friends. im going to miss it, all of it, but i know ill be in touch with all of my new friends.
